Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is a major international cartel modeled as a permanent intergovernmental organisation.
The Members are: Algeria, Angola, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela.
It has 13-member nations as of April 2020.
Qatar terminated its membership on 1 January 2019.
OPEC was founded in 1960 in Baghdad by the first five members (Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela).
Headquarter of OPEC is at Vienna, Austria though Austria is not a member of OPEC. There are no European countries as members.
